Job summary

National Police seeks a Campus Police Officer I to patrol College campus buildings and grounds, enforce laws and college rules, and safeguard confidential materials. The role includes responding to incidents, preparing reports, and transporting documents as needed.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, a valid state driver's license, and be eligible for POST certification with an extensive background check.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of English language including grammar, punctuation and spelling.
• Some knowledge of police procedures and practices and fire prevention methods.
• Ability to maintain student discipline and walk long hours in varying conditions.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Current valid Massachusetts Class D Motor Vehicle Operator’s License.
• Eligible for appointment as Special State Police Officer and POST Certification.
• Must pass police entry level psychological screening and complete required training.

Responsibilities

• Patrols campus buildings and grounds to ensure security and guard against trespass, theft, and damage.
• Directs traffic and provides information to visitors and students.
• Investigates accidents and complaints; prepares reports on investigations.
• Operates police equipment including radios, MDTs, and base stations.
• Cooperates with related agencies and shares information.
• Determines actions (arrest, warning, etc.) and handles emergencies.
• Supports teaching and learning environment with integrity and student-centered service.
