Job summary

The University of Maryland Eastern Shore is seeking contractual temporary security staff to protect campus facilities and people during normal operations and events.

Under supervision, you will monitor entrances, patrol grounds, and complete basic reports while maintaining clear communication with staff using radios and phones. A valid Maryland non-commercial Class C license is required, and a high school diploma or GED is sufficient with no prior experience needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Secure and monitor entrances and exits.
• Patrol buildings and grounds; notify staff of threats.
• Complete logs and basic reports as instructed.
• Assist with traffic control, crowd control, and parking enforcement.
• Respond to routine inquiries from staff, students and visitors.
• Maintain radio and telephone communications.
