Job summary

Hartford Public Schools is seeking a School Safety Officer to maintain order and safety across campuses and to enforce district rules. The role requires daily collaboration with the principal and security director in a close working relationship to protect students and staff.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, pass the Physical Fitness Test, and possess knowledge of school security issues and safety needs.

Qualifications

• Must pass the state sanctioned standard Physical Fitness Test.
• Must have knowledge of issues related to school security.
• Must have knowledge of the safety and security needs of students, teachers and other school personnel.
• Prior Security experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure public safety involving the control, maintenance, and enforcement of rules and regulations governing the order and security of Hartford Public Schools; work is performed under the supervision of the school principal or assigned building administrator.
