Job summary

Harford County Public Schools seeks a School Safety Liaison for Edgewood Middle School. The role supports a safe learning environment by coordinating with staff, students, and the community, and deploying floaters to locations as needed.

Responsibilities include monitoring security, assisting with investigations, and performing safety drills, with mandatory training and evening duties as required. A driver’s license and daily transport to sites are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of experience ensuring safety and security in a school setting.
• Demonstrated ability to build and sustain positive relationships within the school and community.
• Experience in responding to emergency situations is preferred.
• Ability to comprehend and carry out written directions and instructions.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to the assigned work location daily.

Responsibilities

• Confers with students regarding behavior and refers to appropriate staff.
• Escorts students to offices (nurse, main office, etc.).
• Conducts safety and security surveys.
• Monitors interior and exterior grounds.
• Ensures cameras are operational and observes monitors as needed.
• Repairs and replaces radio equipment as directed.
• Assists with after-school or evening duties as needed.
