Job summary

Covenant College is seeking a Campus Security Officer to protect personnel and property on the Lookout Mountain campus. The role requires patrolling, monitoring video and access controls, and responding to emergencies with a strong emphasis on safety and integrity.

Responsibilities include supervising student workers, managing keys and access systems, and providing First Aid as needed. Evening, weekend, and holiday shifts are possible.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience within a security/public safety or law enforcement context is required.
• Capable of building rapport with students, faculty, and staff on a college campus.
• Professional ethics, integrity, and proactive problem-solving ability are essential.
• Excellent oral and written communication, with a mature Christian attitude.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a strong visual presence on campus.
• Patrol campus and monitor surveillance to protect people and property.
• Monitor campus entrances and secure doors; respond to alarms and emergencies.
• Provide First Aid when needed and assist in incident reporting.
• Supervise student workers and manage keys, access systems, and vehicle maintenance.
• Respond to emergencies following campus protocols and coordinate with other staff.
