Job summary

Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana in South Bend is seeking a Security Officer to provide day-to-day security coverage for the campus, report to the Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness Campus Lead, and help maintain a safe, inclusive environment for students, faculty, staff, and guests.

You will patrol on foot and by vehicle, respond to incidents, complete incident reports, operate CCTV and access control systems, and assist in life safety duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Able to work with colleagues across the organization.
• Promote an inclusive environment reflecting diverse backgrounds.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe campus environment via vehicle and foot patrols.
• Respond to incidents including thefts, accidents, medical emergencies and alarms.
• Prepare written incident reports and forms related to safety duties.
• Operate CCTV, access control, and incident reporting systems.
• Provide campus safety escorts and unlock/lock doors as needed.
