Job summary

Macomb Community College seeks a Police Officer to oversee the safety and security of all college properties, personnel, students, guests, and visitors during assigned shifts. Under the direct supervision of the Chief of College Police, you will be responsible for crime prevention, preservation of the peace, and enforcement of laws and college regulations.

Successful candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent and must be or become MCOLES-certified before hire.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Must be or become MCOLES-certified prior to hire.
• Two years of sworn law enforcement experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prevent and suppress crime on college properties.
• Protect life and property of faculty, staff, students, guests and visitors.
• Develop, implement and supervise public safety specialties.
• Preserve the peace and enforce laws and college regulations.
• Apprehend, investigate and prosecute offenders.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
