Responsibilities

• Operates weapons detectors, handheld screening devices, radios, security monitoring equipment after training.
• Interacts professionally with students, staff, administrators, parents, visitors, and the public.
• Assists with entry into the school building and screening of students and visitors.
• Follows procedures when items are unsafe or when additional assistance is needed.
• Reports safety hazards, incidents, and emergencies to administrators and designated personnel.
• Responds to incidents following district policies and safety procedures.
• Works with law enforcement and safety personnel to mitigate campus security issues.
• Maintains awareness of emergency procedures and drills.
• Communicates effectively via radio, phone, and other devices.
• Completes paperwork and training as required.
