Job summary

Barnes & Noble College is seeking a Campus Retail Associate to provide superb customer service and support store leaders in daily operations. The role involves processing sales, greeting customers, and maintaining a clean, organized store environment on campus.

The position is ideal for individuals 16+ with a positive attitude and willingness to learn in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting. Flexible scheduling and campus-based hours are available.

Qualifications

• Candidates must be at least 16 years old.

• Basic math, keyboarding and data entry skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with processing sales transactions involving cash, credit, or financial aid payments.
• Greet customers and foster a friendly atmosphere and positive experience.
• Support store operations including operating equipment and cash register with speed and accuracy.
• Keep the store organized by shelving, arranging, cleaning and organizing products.
• Maintain routine housekeeping such as dusting, mopping, vacuuming, and trash removal.

Responsibilities

Expectations:

• Assist with processing sales transactions involving cash, credit, or financial aid payments.
• Provide a friendly atmosphere by greeting customers and focusing on their positive experience throughout their visit.
• Take initiative to support store operations including operating equipment and cash register while ensuring speed of service and accurate transactions.
• Keep the store looking fresh by shelving, arranging, cleaning, and organizing products or space within the store.
• Temporary positions require availability to work on a weekly basis for a period of 90 days or less with occasional weekends, and flexibility in scheduling for opening, midday, or closing shifts.
• Routine housekeeping including, for example, dusting, mopping, window cleaning, vacuuming, trash removal.

Physical Demands:

• Frequent movement within the store to access various departments, areas, and/or products.
• Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods.
• Frequent lifting.
• Occasional reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders.
