Job summary

The Recycling Technician at Vanderbilt University Maintenance and Operations (VUMO) supports the campus recycling and waste management programs. This role helps ensure diversion, recycling, and proper disposal of wastes and serves as the customer service representative for faculty, staff, and students.

Responsibilities include collecting recyclables, operating and maintaining compactors, assisting with events, and helping place bins.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Valid Driver License with satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Check dumpsters and notify when attention is needed.
• Collect and sort recyclables from various campus locations.
• Operate and troubleshoot compactors.
• Assist with special events and moves.
• Maintain daily time logs and bin placements.
• Attend safety training and perform related tasks.
