Job description

LOGISTICS & INFORMATION

Engagement: This is a 6-month contract position, with the possibility of transitioning to a full-time employee role if we bring campus recruitment in-house on an ongoing basis.

Location: This is a contractor role and is fully remote. You must be based in the United States for travel to college campuses.

Travel: This role lives on the road. Expect travel of up to 50% of your time during peak recruitment seasons, primarily for campus visits. Tilting Futures covers travel cost including airfare, hotel, and food stipend.

Start date: This is a 6-month contract running from November 9, 2026 through May 7, 2027. The priority deadline for this application is October 14, 2026.

Compensation: This contract pays on a monthly basis, equivalent to an annual range of $75,000 to $90,000 (approximately $6250- $7,500 per month), depending on experience.

Application process: This is an outline of our typical hiring process. Depending on the needs of the role, the individual stages may change. Only qualified applicants will be advanced at each stage.

  1. Submit an application: it will be reviewed by real humans, not bots!
  2. Screening interview: a quick "get to know you" call
  3. Candidate exercise: a chance for us to learn more about you and for you to understand some of the expectations of the role.
  4. Hiring manager interview: you'll chat about your exercise and meet this role's supervisor.
  5. Senior Leadership Team interview: we are a small organization and our leadership is deeply invested in making sure we hire the right folks for each role. This final interview will take place in person, location to be determined and Tilting Futures will cover the cost of travel.
ABOUT THIS ROLE

Through immersive learning programs, Tilting Futures helps young people develop the skills, perspectives, and experiences to create meaningful change. We are seeking an individual who is excited about sharing our mission and programs directly to students on our college partner campuses.

As our Campus Recruitment Specialist, you'll work directly on our higher education partner campuses, bringing our mission to life for both students and school stakeholders who can send students your way, term after term. You will turn student curiosity into enrolled students across all of our programs. You'll do this by leading info sessions and classroom talks, answering questions, supporting students through barriers, and coordinating closely with Admissions and Marketing all the way to enrollment day. This is a role for someone who'd rather be at a table in the student union than in an office, who can read a room of skeptical juniors and know exactly what will land.

Our higher education recruitment approach is still evolving, and there won't always be a playbook. You should enjoy turning broad goals into action, testing ideas, learning from results, and building the best practices that lets others replicate what works.

The Campus Recruitment Specialist reports to the Director, Educational Partnerships.

YOUR OPPORTUNITY FOR IMPACT
Generate leads that convert to enrollment
  • Own recruitment across a portfolio of higher education partners. In partnership with the Director of Educational Partnerships, develop tailored plans for each institution with clear goals for leads, applications, and enrollment.
  • Proactively generate student leads through direct outreach: campus events, info sessions, classroom talks, digital channels, and creative engagement.
  • Cultivate faculty, advisors, and student leaders as ongoing champions. Once they understand our mission and impact, they become reliable feeders of well-fit students, term after term.
Convert curiosity into enrollment
  • Be the human connection that moves students from interest to commitment. Lead info sessions, campus visits, and classroom talks, adapting your pitch for students, families, and campus staff.
  • Answer questions, support students through concerns and barriers, and guide them through the application process. Be their advocate every step of the way to enrollment.
  • Contribute to Global Recruitment and Admissions priorities as needs evolve, including Admissions inbox coverage and application review during peak periods.
  • Own enrollment goals for each campus and track progress against targets.
Build a network that compounds over time
  • Recruit, onboard, and support student and alumni ambassadors with clear expectations, messaging, materials, and engagement opportunities. Activate alumni networks for campus recruitment.
  • Launch peer-to-peer and referral campaigns; double down on the ones that drive real applications.
  • Maintain a clean pipeline in our CRM (Slate), and coordinate with Admissions so promising leads always get the next right touch and ultimately convert.
Turn what you learn into what works
  • Partner with Marketing to strengthen messaging for students, families, and stakeholders. Share insights from campus: stories, objections, questions, to improve positioning.
  • Track your funnel from lead to enrollment through our CRM and admissions system - Slate. Identify where students disengage and use data to set priorities.
  • Test new approaches, scale what works, and build playbooks for other campuses.
WHO WILL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE

We're looking for more than hard skills. We want someone who brings these mindsets to the work:

  • Connected to our mission: Something in your own life experience drives your passion for Tilting Futures' mission. You tell our story authentically and help students see themselves in what we offer.
  • Experience in higher education recruitment, student engagement, field marketing, campus programs, or related work
  • Comfortable with significant travel, including peak recruitment seasons at close to 50% time on the road
  • On-the-ground relationship builder: You come alive in conversation with students, faculty, and campus partners. You've proactively found leads and cultivated champions among advisors, student leaders, and alumni, and you understand the follow through needed to turn interest into enrollment.
  • Resourceful experimentalist: You turn loosely defined goals into action. You make thoughtful decisions with incomplete information, test new approaches, and adapt quickly based on what you learn.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational chops: You catch what others miss and know exactly what's due when and where things live. You can manage multiple campuses, campaigns, and relationships without dropping a thread.
  • Data-driven problem solver: You track what's working and what isn't. When something isn't moving the needle, you dig in to find the root, and adjust course to hit enrollment goals.
  • Comfort using & evolving systems: You thrive building and leveraging tech and CRM systems. Ideally you have experience with Slate, our CRM for both student communications and data management to hit the ground running.
  • Persistent and resilient: You don't take setbacks personally. You push through obstacles, try different angles when something doesn't work the first time, and keep your energy up through the grind of the road.
  • Independent and collaborative: You take initiative without hand holding and know when to loop in leadership. You also show up for colleagues beyond your core responsibilities.
  • Continuous learner: You're hungry to get better. Take feedback well and translate it into growth. You stay current in best practices to keep our approach evolving.
YOUR LEGACY

You'll turn the campus partnerships we've built into a steady, repeatable pipeline of students who apply and enroll in Take Action Lab. More importantly, you'll expand access to transformative experiences for young people who might not otherwise encounter them. A few years from now, the playbook you build on the road will be how Tilting Futures increases reach to Higher Ed partners across the United States.

A DAY IN THE LIFE
Morning

You're at a table outside the student union. By 10am, you've talked to dozens of students about what Take Action Lab actually looks like. One sophomore, an environmental science major who's never left the country, is so intrigued she adds herself to your follow-up list. So do 20 others. You leave that table buzzing and your notepad is full of names, stories, and real interest to work with.

Afternoon

Between campus stops, you work your pipeline using our Slate admissions system: a call with a student weighing this against a summer internship, a quick text to the faculty champion who keeps sending you her best students, and a note to Admissions flagging two applicants who need help with paperwork.

Before Signing Off

You log today's leads and check your application and enrollment numbers to see where your focus needs to be tomorrow. You prep tomorrow's classroom talk, and send Marketing a line one student used today that would be a great quote for the next recruitment deck.

Tilting Futures is an equal opportunity employer. We know a diverse team produces the best results and we believe our team should reflect the diversity of leadership we aim to inspire. Applicants who contribute to this diversity are strongly encouraged to apply.
