Job summary

Creighton University is seeking Public Safety Officers to protect life and property and assist the campus community on the Omaha campus. Officers respond to emergencies, enforce parking, secure buildings, and provide first aid when required.

This role requires strong customer service, calm judgment under pressure, and the ability to handle diverse situations. Armed officers will carry firearms in compliance with SOPs and Nebraska state requirements, with annual trainings and evaluations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree preferred.
• 1-2 years of work-related experience preferred in campus security or emergency services.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Pre-employment screening includes criminal background check, motor vehicle report, drug screen, medical/physical exam, and psychological testing.

Responsibilities

• Patrol campus areas by vehicle, bike, or on foot to assist students, employees, and visitors.
• Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls and document incidents promptly.
• Enforce parking regulations and secure/buildings, providing first aid when needed.
• Armed officers must maintain firearms competencies and complete required trainings.
