Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and eligibility to attend POST basic training academy.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Possession of a valid California driver's license by date of hire.
• Eligible to be a peace officer in California.
• Eligible to obtain a POST Certificate of Eligibility or possess a POST Basic Certificate in good standing.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a TWIC card within 1 year for work aboard the Training Ship.

Responsibilities

• Attend prescribed training sessions to learn principles of criminal and civil law enforcement and codified/case law.
• Assist other police officers in the performance of their duties under close supervision.
