Job summary

Nashville State Police Department is seeking a Police Sergeant to perform duties of a Police Officer, ensuring the safety of students, faculty, and staff across campus locations. The role includes serving as second in command in the Chief's absence and directing departmental training programs.

Required qualifications include a High School Diploma, POST certification (or within 90 days), and prior law enforcement experience.

Responsibilities

• Protect life and property within the department's jurisdiction
• Coordinate and direct training programs and records
• Maintain training records and ensure POST certification
• Prepare and distribute annual security reports and related communications
• Lead training activities and in-service presentations for officers and staff
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate with Chief of Police and other agencies
