Job summary

Purdue University Northwest seeks a Police Officer for the Westville Campus to maintain safety and security across university properties and buildings. The officer will conduct patrols, enforce laws and policies, and assist in emergency situations while preserving community trust.

The role requires a state-certified officer with at least three years of experience, a valid driver’s license, and a commitment to public service in an academic setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy.
• Minimum three years of prior law enforcement experience.
• Valid police officer certification from Indiana Law Enforcement Academy.
• Must be at least 21 years old and have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety and security through patrols of campus.
• Enforce laws, university policies and traffic regulations.
• Prepare clear reports of activity for review.
• Interview witnesses and provide testimony when needed.
• Respond to information requests and provide escorts or safety counseling.
