The University of Akron seeks a sworn University Police Officer to enforce laws on campus and promote a safe, secure environment for students, staff, and visitors. The role conducts patrols on foot, car, or bicycle and provides non-criminal assistance while upholding university rules.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, an Ohio driver’s license with ≤6 points, and an Ohio Peace Officer’s Certificate.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED.
• Valid Ohio driver's license with 6 points or fewer.
• Valid Ohio Peace Officer's Certificate.
• Ability to pass psychological, polygraph, and physical agility tests.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsabilités

• Respond to service calls and patrol campus on foot, car, or bike.
• Provide non-criminal assistance while enforcing laws and campus rules.
• Investigate alleged violations and prepare reports and logs.
• Complete documents recording events and activities.
