Job summary

LSU Health Shreveport in Monroe, Louisiana, is seeking a Police Officer 1/2/3 to join the University Police Department. The officer will perform armed patrol, enforce laws, respond to incidents, and serve as a liaison with local police and sheriff’s deputies across the LSU Health Sciences Center and Ochsner Health properties.

Position involves vehicle patrols, incident response, and potential shift rotations. No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

• Performs armed patrol and law enforcement duties at LSU Health Sciences Center, Ochsner Health, and surrounding properties, including vehicle patrol and incident response.
• Acts as primary liaison with local police and sheriff’s departments regarding on- or near-property incidents.
• Conducts traffic enforcement for DWI and reckless driving, and provides backup to city and sheriff patrols during criminal activity nearby.
• Leads training and security operations, serving as shift training officer and coordinating VIP/dignitary protection and advance security assessments.
• Works rotating shifts (day, evening, night, weekends, holidays), maintains POST certification, and upholds professional, customer-focused service while remaining at assigned post unless relieved.
