University of North Carolina at Asheville is hiring a Police Corporal to support the University Police Department. The role involves patrol operations, investigations, leadership, and community policing to protect students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

The Corporal will respond to incidents, assist with supervision, manage schedules, and step in as acting supervisor in the Sergeant's absence. Must meet NC CJETSC certification requirements and campus safety expectations.

Qualificações

• Requires certification from NC CJETSC as commissioned officer.
• Associate degree (60 hours) and 2 years sworn law enforcement officer experience for Assistant Police Supervisor I.
• 3 years of experience as an Assistant Police Supervisor with the agency; current certification or eligibility per timeline.

Responsabilidades

• Assist with supervision within the University Police department, including scheduling and staffing.
• Respond to and investigate crimes and incidents; provide training and perform specialized duties as designated.
• Act as supervisor in the absence of the Police Sergeant; oversee call response and police duties during shifts.
• Maintain knowledge of laws, policies, and procedures; ensure proper line and equipment inspections and performance reviews.
