Job summary

A public educational institution in Macon, Georgia is seeking a Campus Police - Cadet to perform various law enforcement duties within the school system. This role involves monitoring areas for safety, completing required paperwork, and maintaining skills in law enforcement. Candidates must possess at least a High School Diploma, with an associate degree preferred, and some experience in law enforcement preferred. This full-time position offers a salary between $17.95 to $20.24 per hour, along with excellent benefits.

Qualifications

• Prior experience and training in law enforcement is preferred.
• Georgia P.O.S.T. certification in law enforcement must be obtained within one year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and patrols designated areas to preserve law and order.
• Completes and files incident reports and other paperwork.
• Administers first aid when appropriate.
• Participates in continuing study and training activities.

Skills

Knowledge of policies, practices, and procedures of law enforcement

Knowledge of criminal and investigative procedures

Skill in the use of firearms and other police equipment

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively

Ability to prepare clear and concise reports

Education

High School Diploma or State Approved High School Equivalency

Associate’s degree preferred
