Job summary

Loyola University New Orleans is seeking an experienced Plumber to maintain and repair campus plumbing systems across dormitories, classrooms, and facilities. You will diagnose issues, install fixtures, and perform preventive maintenance while ensuring safety and code compliance.

You will collaborate with campus maintenance staff and departments, respond to service requests, keep CMMS records, and assist with emergencies outside regular hours as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; apprenticeship preferred.
• Proven experience in commercial or institutional plumbing maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of plumbing systems and materials (copper, PVC, PEX).
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair plumbing fixtures and systems across campus.
• Diagnose issues and implement effective repairs.
• Install and maintain fixtures including sinks, toilets, showers, and water heaters.
• Perform preventive maintenance to extend system lifespan.
• Respond to service requests from staff, faculty, and students.
• Coordinate projects with other maintenance staff and departments.
• Keep records of work orders, inspections, and repairs in CMMS.
• Respond to emergencies outside regular hours as needed.
