Job summary

Villanova University in Villanova, PA, is seeking a Patrol Officer I to maintain safety, enforce university rules, and protect life and property within the campus community. Duties include staffing fixed posts, conducting foot/vehicle/bicycle patrols, and preparing written reports.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Must have the ability to become certified in CPR and First Aid.
• Demonstrated ability to be customer service oriented
• Must have professionally interacted with customers, guests and/or fellow employees in a courteous manner and to de-escalate situations before they become unsafe
• Understanding of written instructions.
• Ability to prepare written reports of activities.
• Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong active listening and problem solving skills
• Good decision making and judgment.
• Ability to interact with diverse university community members in a courteous manner.

Responsibilities

• Staffs fixed posts and controls access to campus per established protocols.
• Provide escorts for students, faculty, and staff; assist ill or injured persons as needed.
• Prepare written reports of work performed.
• Alert supervisors to traffic hazards or violations.
• Staffs special event assignments (athletic events, homecoming, commencement).
• Attend training and participate in departmental meetings; support quality improvement efforts.
• Perform additional duties and assist with special projects.
