Pennsylvania State University’s Center for Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) in University Park seeks a Mental Health Counselor at Advanced or Senior level. The position is offered at 75% or 83.3% FTE with summer months off, starting January 4, 2027.

The role involves triage, short-term therapy, crisis evaluation, and outreach. Candidates should hold a Master’s Degree with licensure as LPC or LCSW in PA, and have 3–6 years (depending on level) of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree required with 6+ years of relevant experience for Senior Professional track.
• Master's Degree required with 3+ years of relevant experience for Advanced Professional track.
• Licensure as LPC or LCSW in PA is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide screening/triage services for students, short-term individual and group therapy, and crisis evaluation/intervention.
• Offer outreach and consultation services to campus partners.
• May supervise and mentor non-licensed staff/trainees.
