Greater Lansing Youth for Christ // Campus Life Ministry Intern

Position Summary

Part‑time Campus Life Ministry Intern is a position offered to students who completed our Alumni Leader program or who need a school internship. Please set up a meeting with Kelsey Bushong if interested. Campus Life ministry combines healthy relationships with creative programs to help young people make good choices, establish a solid foundation for life, and positively impact their schools. Like every ministry of Youth for Christ, Campus Life seeks to engage these young people wherever they are found and help them become lifelong followers of Jesus Christ.

Youth for Christ’s Campus Life Interns help build authentic Christ‑sharing relationships with students in the community. In order to reach this goal, Campus Life utilizes a team of volunteers, who, under the direction of the Youth For Christ/Campus Life staff, create programming welcoming to students from all walks of life.

Typical weekly ministry duties include a mix of these Relationship Ministry Actions (RMA’s):

• CONTACTING – going into the teenage world to initiate new relationships
• BUILDING TIMES – spending time with students to build new relationships and grow existing ones
• CLUB – meeting with a large group of kids in a safe, high energy, non‑Christian friendly setting to talk about relevant topics and connect them to God’s truth.
• APPOINTMENTS – meeting with kids to focus on their individual needs
• SMALL GROUPS – meeting with several students to have an interactive discussion about relevant topics and connect them to truth
• CORE TEAM – a team of Christian teenagers with adult coaches who together follow Jesus in a way that naturally invites friends to discover Jesus with them

Interns are required to do 10 hours a week of ministry which includes 4–5 of the above RMA’s. They are also required to attend training twice a month. While the position hours are flexible they must be able to attend their weekly club site and these trainings.
