Job summary

Sylvan Learning is seeking a School Campus Teacher to deliver robust learning experiences and assess student progress on each assignment. The role covers planning, instruction, and classroom management at a Sylvan campus contract school.

Qualified candidates hold a four year degree with current or expired teaching credentials and have 1–2 years of teaching experience; knowledge of phonics and reading comprehension is a plus for reading teachers.

Qualifications

• Four year degree or equivalent required.
• State or provincial teaching credentials (current or expired).
• Minimum of one or two years of teaching experience preferred.
• Knowledge of phonics and reading comprehension preferred for reading teachers.

Responsibilities

• Prepares for instructional sessions and gathers materials.
• Greets students and initiates instruction to engage each student.
• Instructs students according to Sylvan program design.
• Manages students, tasks and time for robust sessions.
• Evaluates and records progress on each program assignment.
• Communicates student needs to contract program director.
• Attends staff meetings and completes ongoing training as needed.
• Completes certification training on each Sylvan program taught.
