Job summary

Lilly invites undergraduates to join the HR Foundations Program in Indianapolis, a rotational development track designed to grow future HR leaders. You will experience COE roles, gain exposure to talent management, HR tech, operations, and global benefits while preparing for business-facing HR roles.

After the first year, you’ll move into a role partnering with leaders on talent strategies and workforce planning, with the final six months offering HR Technology & Operations experience to sharpen

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Business/Data Analytics, Organizational Psychology, or a related field, with an expected graduation date of August 2027.
  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States.
  • Lilly does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status for this employment position.

Responsibilities

Begin your career in Lilly's HR Foundations Program, a rotational development experience designed to build future HR leaders. This program provides early-career professionals with broad exposure across the Human Resources function through a combination of specialized and business-facing HR experiences. HR Associates will start in an HR Center of Excellence (COE) role, gaining expertise in areas such as Talent Management, HR Technology & Operations, Strategic HR Business Support, or Global Benefits. After one year, associates will transition into a business-facing HR role, partnering with leaders to support talent strategies, workforce planning, and organizational initiatives. During the final six months of the program, associates will participate in a part-time HRTO (HR Technology & Operations) experience designed to further strengthen their technical and analytical capabilities. Upon completion of the program, associates will present their key learnings and contributions to the HR Lead Team before transitioning into their first HR role outside of the program. The HR Foundations Program is designed to accelerate development through meaningful work, leadership exposure, mentorship, and hands‑on experience, helping associates build the skills, business acumen, and relationships needed for a successful long‑term career in Human Resources at Lilly. We expect interns to approach these tools with curiosity, apply critical thinking to AI‑assisted work, and always prioritize accuracy, confidentiality, and ethical standards in how they use them.

Basic Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Business/Data Analytics, Organizational Psychology, or a related field, with an expected graduation date of August 2027.

Additional Functional Job Skills & Preference
  • Prior experience using AI tools (e.g., generative AI platforms, automation tools, or AI-assisted research/analytics tools) in an academic, project, or work setting.

Compensation and Benefits

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is $70,000.00 - $82,000.00 Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance). In addition, Lilly offers a comprehensive benefit program to eligible employees, including eligibility to participate in a company-sponsored 401(k); pension; vacation benefits; eligibility for medical, dental, vision and prescription drug benefits; flexible benefits (e.g., healthcare and/or dependent day care flexible spending accounts); life insurance and death benefits; certain time off and leave of absence benefits; and well-being benefits (e.g., employee assistance program, fitness benefits, and employee clubs and activities).
