Job summary

The University of Missouri is seeking a BTS Equipment Operator in Campus Facilities Operations. You will operate cranes, dump trucks, and related heavy machinery to support maintenance and construction tasks, including earth moving, paving, and hoisting.

Qualifications include a high school diploma and 4 years of experience; blueprints reading; and CDL within 6 months if not already held. A valid license and safety certifications may be required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Four years actual work experience and training in the trade.
  • Ability to read blueprints, plans, and drawings.
  • Skill in maintenance and use of tools, equipment and materials of the trade.
  • A valid driver’s license may be required.
  • Depending on work, wearer may be required to use respirator or SCBA.
  • CDL would need to be obtained within 6 months of starting.

Responsibilities

  • Operate equipment including cranes, dump trucks, and other heavy machinery in support of maintenance and construction tasks.
  • Perform regular maintenance and repairs on equipment and report needs for replacements or upgrades.
  • Observe and enforce safety requirements related to equipment operation.
  • Maintain tools and equipment, perform routine repairs, and store tools properly.
  • Assist with cost estimates, material orders, and maintenance records as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
