Job summary
The California State University is seeking a per diem Nurse Practitioner for the Cal Poly San Luis Obispo Campus Health & Wellbeing. The role entails planning and delivering health and clinical management of urgent medical issues, chronic conditions, and psychosocial needs, in collaboration with physicians according to established NP guidelines.
This is a 1-year temporary position with potential extension, located on-site at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.
Qualifications
- One year of experience as Advanced Practice Nurse in family practice or related field.
- Comprehensive knowledge of advanced primary care principles and procedures.
- Knowledge of state and federal nursing practice laws and regulations.
- Ability to work independently in practice areas established by physicians and protocols.
- Ability to interpret laboratory and imaging results to guide patient care.
- Familiarity with pharmacology, nutrition, disease management and health maintenance principles.
- Commitment to high standards of nursing practice and patient safety.
Responsibilities
- Plan and assume responsibility for health and clinical management of common urgent medical problems.
- Provide care independently and in collaboration with physicians per policies and protocols.
- Apply established standards of nursing practice to patient assessment, diagnosis and treatment.
- Coordinate care with other health professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
