Job summary

The University of North Georgia on the Gainesville Campus is seeking a Peer Health Educator. This paid student leadership role supports well-being messaging, content creation for social platforms, and event planning for health initiatives.

Selected candidates receive Peer Educator training, First Aid/CPR/AED certification, and opportunities for Mental Health First Aid training. Duties include promoting Live Well UNG, coordinating events, and recruiting volunteers.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours.
• Must be in good academic standing (2.5 GPA).
• Must have or obtain CPR certification within 1 month of hire.

Responsibilities

• Maintain 10 assigned hours per week.
• Plan, promote, and implement educational events and activities on health issues.
• Maintain organized calendar of upcoming presentations and events.
• Wear Peer Health Educator attire and name tag while on duty.
• Ensure events and presentations are approved by supervisor.
• Recruit volunteer peer educators into the program.
• Collaborate with student organizations and departments to promote health programs.
• Serve as health information and referral resource for volunteers.
• Attend weekly meetings and trainings.
• Stay updated on well-being topics through ongoing education.
• Available for occasional evenings and weekends.
• Other duties as assigned as the role evolves.
