Job summary

California State University, Chico is seeking a Groundsworker to perform general gardening and grounds maintenance across campus. The role requires routine outdoor labor and a commitment to safety and campus standards.

The position works 6:00am-2:30pm, Mon–Fri with summer hours; pay ranges from $41,532 to $57,024 annually. A background check and valid CA driver's license are required. Tuition waiver benefits may apply for eligible employees.

Qualifications

• One year of grounds maintenance or related manual labor experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform general gardening work and maintain campus grounds in assigned areas.
• Assist with irrigation systems installation, maintenance and repairs.
• Apply horticultural sprays or pesticides where approved and safe.
• Participate in landscape construction projects as needed.
• Support maintenance of sports fields and related equipment.
