Job summary

St. Mark’s School of Texas in Dallas is seeking a Groundskeeper to maintain lawns, athletic fields, and landscaping, keeping campus outdoor areas safe, clean, and attractive for students, families, and staff.

The role reports to the Assistant Director of the Physical Plant. Experience in landscaping and irrigation, strong organization and communication, and ability to operate grounds equipment are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; Associate's or certification preferred.
• 3-5 years of groundskeeping or landscaping experience.
• Prior supervisory or leadership experience.
• Knowledge of irrigation systems and plant care.
• Ability to operate grounds equipment.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of safety procedures and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain lawns, landscaped areas, flower beds, trees, shrubs, and other campus vegetation.
• Mow, edge, trim, fertilize, seed, aerate, and water lawns as needed.
• Prune shrubs, trees, and other landscaping for neat appearance and visibility.
• Maintain athletic fields and recreational areas, including field prep and upkeep.
• Remove weeds, leaves, branches, litter, and debris from grounds.
• Keep sidewalks, entrances, parking areas, and outdoor spaces clean and hazard-free.
• Inspect grounds and report or fix unsafe conditions and damaged areas.
• Operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment and tools.
• Monitor irrigation systems and perform minor repairs as needed.
• Assist with seasonal grounds maintenance and weather-related cleanup.
• Support campus setup/cleanup for events and programs.
• Assist maintenance team with minor repairs or moves as needed.
