Job summary

State of Georgia, West Georgia Technical College campus, is seeking a Groundskeeper to maintain and improve campus grounds. The role involves mowing, edging, planting, mulching, and applying chemicals while ensuring equipment is kept in safe working order.

Work is outdoors year-round, with physical tasks including lifting up to 40 pounds and possible travel between campus locations. No experience required, though 1-year landscaping experience is preferred; a comprehensive State of Georgia

Qualifications

• No experience required.
• 1-year landscaping or groundskeeping experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Mows grass and trims weeds using large mowers, edgers, and tools.
• Assesses grounds and follows plans to plant, lay sod, mulch, and mulch with pine straw.
• Applies herbicides and pesticides and treats grounds for insects.
• Maintains grounds maintenance equipment.
• Shovels snow and ice, collects trash and debris.
• Maintains parking lots and asphalt surfaces.
• Other duties as assigned.
