Job summary

Accelera Staffing is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Technician to maintain institutional grounds and athletic fields. The role supports campus operations through landscaping, equipment operation, and event-related setup, ensuring safety and usability of outdoor spaces.

The candidate will perform turf care, report safety issues, and assist with seasonal activities. The position is outdoors, with early mornings, weekends, and overtime as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of grounds maintenance experience preferred.
• Experience operating landscaping equipment preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.
• Ability to obtain pesticide application certifications.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, overtime as needed.
• Ability to perform physical outdoor labor.

Responsibilities

• Mow, trim, fertilize, aerate, roll, seed, reseed, irrigate, topdress, and dethatch lawns, including athletic fields.
• Identify and treat lawn diseases, weeds, insects, and pests.
• Prepare, mix, and apply chemicals per label instructions and safety rules.
• Plant, transplant, prune, and maintain trees, shrubs, and flowers.
• Operate landscaping and light construction equipment.
