Job summary

Austin Preparatory School in Reading, MA, is seeking a Maintenance Technician / Licensed Tradesperson to maintain a safe, functional campus. Reporting to the Director of Facilities, you will perform skilled maintenance across buildings, systems, and equipment, combining licensed trades with proactive upkeep.

Candidates should hold a valid trade license in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or related field, with 10+ years of experience in commercial or institutional settings, strong troubleshooting

Qualifications

• Valid professional trade license or certification in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or another applicable building trade.
• 10+ years of relevant trade and maintenance experience, preferably in a commercial, educational, or institutional setting.
• Ability to troubleshoot building systems, work independently and collaboratively, prioritize multiple needs, and communicate effectively with colleagues, contractors, and members of the school community.
• Must be able to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 50 pounds, using appropriate tools and equipment, and working in varied indoor/outdoor environments.
• Requires schedule flexibility based on school operations, special events, emergencies, and other campus needs.

• Diagnose and resolve facility and building-system issues.
• Complete general and skilled maintenance and repairs.
• Perform preventative maintenance on campus systems and equipment.
• Respond to routine and emergency service needs.
