Job summary

HES is seeking a General Maintenance technician to support the University of Toledo site. The role involves plumbing, electrical, drywall and carpentry repairs to keep facilities in good operating condition.

Responsibilities include handling work orders, documenting actions via mobile device, and maintaining safety practices. The position is full-time with rotating on-call shifts and benefits including health and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• General maintenance experience required or preferred.
• Plumbing, electrical, drywall, and carpentry skills.
• Ability to follow safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Receive and complete work orders (routine or emergency).
• Record time and note actions via cell phone per policy.
• Perform plumbing repairs/installs on sinks, valves, water lines and more.
• Measure, cut, thread, and prepare piping for replacement/new install.
• Handle minor electrical, carpentry, and lighting tasks as needed.
• Repair/replace electrical outlets, switches, and lighting fixtures.
• Perform drywall repairs and adjust hardware as required.
• Maintain buildings in good operating condition and replace ceiling tiles as needed.
• Complete DRB inspections and communicate findings per WO instructions.
• Oversee outside vendors when necessary and coordinate materials with warehouse.
• Observe safety policies and work with Facilities team to complete tasks.
• Rotate to cover shifts as scheduled by Facilities Maintenance.
