Job summary

LSU Health Sciences Center New Orleans is seeking skilled Maintenance Repairers 1 or 2 to assemble, install, maintain, repair, and replace structures, equipment, finishes, and accessories across all maintenance trades. The role supports campus facilities across the New Orleans location.

Requirements include a valid driver's license and prior experience in building trades. The position offers a probationary appointment with starting pay rates of $17.18 (MR1) or $19.67 (MR2), plus longevity pay

Qualifications

• One year of experience or training in the building construction trades, building maintenance, or repair of mechanical equipment.
• Six semester hours in construction management, construction technology, or engineering, or a combination of these courses.

Responsibilities

• Installs, maintains, alters, repairs and removes simple electrical fixtures and light machinery.
• Installs, maintains, alters, and repairs plumbing fixtures and toilets.
• Performs preventive maintenance tasks as assigned.
• Performs demolition and construction work on minor projects campus-wide.
• Adheres to safety regulations during duties.
• Supports other trades (plumbers, electricians, carpenters, etc.) when needed.
