Job summary

Pike School in Andover, MA is seeking a Facilities Generalist to join its hands-on facilities team. The role delivers building maintenance, groundskeeping, custodial tasks, event support, and campus safety, with groundskeeping prominent in spring, summer, and fall. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 6:00 am to 2:30 pm.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in facilities or related fields preferred.
• Knowledge of tools, preventive maintenance, and safety procedures.
• Ability to perform routine/semi-skilled repairs and escalate issues.
• Ability to work independently or in a team.
• Massachusetts driver’s license.
• Overtime and variable hours may be required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair school buildings and facilities with routine carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and related tasks.
• Inspect buildings and campus areas and report major repairs or safety concerns.
• Perform preventive maintenance and keep maintenance records.
• Maintain plumbing fixtures and systems and address minor issues.
• Operate and maintain hand and power tools and equipment.
• Maintain campus grounds, lawns, and athletic areas; seasonal grounds work.
• Assist with athletic facilities and fields maintenance and seasonal tasks.
• Remove snow and ice from roadways and walkways; respond to winter weather as needed.
• Provide custodial and floor-care support as needed.
• Move furniture and assist with room changes and events.
• Lock/unlock and secure buildings; manage keys and security as assigned.
• Follow safety practices and use PPE; comply with Pike School Handbook.
• Maintain positive relationships with faculty, staff, students, families, and visitors.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Facilities.
