Job summary

Saint Mary’s College is seeking a dependable General Services Technician to support event setup, maintenance, and daily operations across campus facilities. The role includes handling event equipment, custodial duties, and coordinating with the General Services Supervisor to ensure timely completion of tasks.

The position requires reading work orders, operating forklifts and heavy equipment, and delivering outstanding service to students, staff, and guests in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three years of special event, facilities, general services, or related experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to operate heavy cleaning equipment.
• Ability to operate a forklift; annual training provided.
• Ability to read and understand work orders and room diagrams.
• Strong organizational and customer service skills.
• Physically demanding work, including lifting up to 75 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Set up and tear down event equipment (tables, chairs, risers, flags, pipe and drape).
• Assist with audio/visual setups under supervision.
• Transport, unload, set up, and store equipment for campus events.
• Operate College vehicles for deliveries.
• Perform office moves and relocate furniture and supplies.
• Deliver and stock departmental materials.
• Attend weekly event meetings and follow safety procedures.
• Provide direction to student workers during events.
