Job summary

The City University of New York's Baruch College is seeking a licensed Professional Engineer to provide engineering oversight for capital and rehabilitation projects across its five buildings and plaza. Qualifications

• A baccalaureate degree in engineering from an accredited college and four years of full-time experience in professional engineering work in the required field; and
• A valid New York State Professional Engineer's license; OR
• Education and/or experience equivalent to the above. However, all candidates must possess a valid NYS Professional Engineer's license.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering oversight for multiple concurrent capital, DASNY-managed, and in-house construction projects across Baruch College's five academic buildings and public plaza, ensuring compliance with engineering standards, building codes, and University requirements.
• Review and coordinate mechanical, electrical, plumbing, structural, fire protection, and building systems designs for renovations, infrastructure upgrades, and modernization projects to support campus operations and long-term facility performance.
• Manage engineering aspects of campus-wide improvement initiatives, including HVAC replacements, energy efficiency projects, accessibility upgrades, life-safety improvements, and deferred maintenance programs.
• Conduct technical evaluations, prepare engineering recommendations, review consultant and contractor submittals, and monitor project execution to ensure quality, safety, sustainability, and operational reliability.
• Serve as the engineering liaison among Facilities Planning and Management, DASNY, consultants, contractors, and campus stakeholders, providing professional engineering judgment and technical leadership throughout project planning, design, construction, and commissioning.
