Job summary

Chartwells Higher Education is recruiting a Campus Executive Chef for Cumberland University in Lebanon, TN. You will lead culinary programs, drive menu development, oversee budgeting and cost control, and mentor staff to deliver exceptional dining experiences on campus.

The role emphasizes strong leadership, food safety, and collaboration with clients to meet program objectives. Regular weekday schedule with occasional evenings or weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• AS degree or equivalent experience required.
• Three+ years of progressive culinary or kitchen management experience.
• Experience in high-volume, hands-on foodservice operations.
• Must be experienced with computers.
• ServSafe certification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Plan regular and modified menus following guidelines and recipes.
• Maintain daily production worksheets and waste logs.
• Supervise and train chefs and team on food prep, safety, and equipment.
• Ensure culinary standards and recipe compliance.
• Manage inventory and cost controls while ensuring availability.
• Adhere to health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
