Job summary

Texas Christian University seeks an Energy Manager to promote energy conservation across campus, lead energy efficiency programs, and monitor utility usage and costs. The role collaborates with HVAC, electrical, and plumbing groups under the Director of Utilities to implement energy-saving projects and provide detailed reporting.

Candidate will have a mechanical or electrical engineering background with extensive energy management experience, including audits and Building/Energy Management

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related field with 5 years of energy management experience.
  • HS diploma or GED with 9 years energy management experience including energy audits and operations of Building/Energy Management and Control Systems.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes energy efficiency by developing and implementing university energy efficiency measures.
  • Calculates energy savings, develops strategies, and evaluates energy audit data.
  • Performs energy audits, inspections, and studies to obtain critical campus information.
  • Provides monthly/annual utility reports and tracks budgets and Energy Utilization Index (EUI).
  • Analyzes electrical, mechanical, HVAC, controls, water, and lighting systems to recommend improvements.
  • Identifies energy efficiency opportunities and develops implementing projects.
  • Promotes energy awareness on campus through presentations and outreach.
  • Supports capital projects to include energy efficiency measures and resolves related issues.
