Job summary

P2S|CMTA seeks a Senior Construction Project Manager (Owner's Representative) for a major CSU Long Beach capital project. Lead multi-disciplinary teams through design and construction in a Design-Build environment, ensuring scope, schedule, and budget alignment.

On-site leadership and strong executive reporting are essential. The role requires extensive public works PMI-style oversight, collaboration with stakeholders, and hands-on management from design through closeout on a $235M

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience managing public works construction projects.
• Demonstrated senior-level leadership on complex capital projects.
• Design-Build and/or Progressive Design-Build experience required.
• Higher Education or Institutional project experience preferred.
• CSU experience preferred but not required.
• Experience working for or with a General Contractor on large construction projects.
• Ability to supervise, lead, and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams.
• Strong understanding of construction administration, project controls, and contract management.
• Experience managing budgets, schedules, contracts, change orders, and stakeholder engagement.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Position is on-site, in person only.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Owner's Representative throughout the design and construction process.
• Lead project collaboration efforts including scope development, contracting, construction administration, commissioning, schedule oversight, and project closeout.
• Maintain day-to-day project leadership throughout the entire project lifecycle.
• Provide leadership and supervision of project team members.
• Guide stakeholder decisions to maintain project scope, schedule, and budget objectives.
• Coordinate and facilitate value engineering efforts.
• Prepare, manage, and support documentation required for audits, post-performance reviews, and regulatory inspections.
• Monitor and manage project budgets, payment applications, cash flow, contracts, change orders.
