Job description

We are looking for a Campus Dean, BSN Program to join our team.

This position will be responsible for the site supervision, development, planning, coordination, organization, implementation and evaluation of the nursing program activities.

  • Plans, manages, updates, and evaluates all program aspects, including:
    • RN program budget
    • Faculty and staff
    • Clinical site liaison
    • Curriculum development and implementation
    • Compliance with Board rules, regulations, and site visits
    • Student advocacy
    • Program policies and procedures
    • Faculty and student handbooks
  • Ensures adequate supplies and equipment to meet program objectives
  • Prepares required state/Board reports, proposals, self-studies, surveys, and site visit materials
  • Maintains student and faculty records; ensures documentation of qualifications
  • Identifies and secures outside resources for the nursing program
  • Develops and implements program policies and procedures
  • Organizes and serves on program committees
  • Oversees student admission process and orientation
  • Writes articulation agreements with nearby colleges
  • Serves as liaison between community and college
  • Performs additional duties as needed to support students and program
  • Develops and maintains educational partnerships and clinical site contracts
  • Conducts or delegates thorough clinical site evaluations (objectives, safety, staffing, risk)
  • Coordinates with clinical faculty/agencies on student numbers, assignments, schedules, objectives; submits BRN approval forms
  • Ensures post-rotation evaluations from students, sites, and faculty; provides summary reports to Dean, CAO, and Advisory Committee
  • Maintains minutes of inter-agency meetings
  • Participates in nursing faculty recruitment, hiring, and orientation
  • Ensures regular nursing faculty meetings with documented minutes
  • Participates in conflict resolution for faculty and students
  • Builds and maintains community relationships; markets the program
  • Monitors instruction quality; participates in faculty/program review and strategic planning
  • Maintains membership and participates in professional associations
  • Represents nursing interests with other college departments (counseling, registration, financial aid)
  • Provides advising and degree planning support to prospective students
  • Ensures proper orientation to skills lab and clinical facilities
  • Manages student appeals and grievances per policy
  • Participates in recruitment, admission, and review of qualified nursing students
  • Provides academic advising and support to nursing students
  • Verifies students meet graduation and licensing exam requirements
  • Conducts Nursing Advisory Committee meetings
  • Tracks and reports student performance, NCLEX pass rates, and job placement
Qualifications:
  • MSN and DNP completed
  • 2 years in a Similar Role managing BSN Nursing
  • Must hold a current RN license in the state where the campus is located (this is a plus-will eventually need to obtain)
  • A masters or higher degree from an accredited college or University that includes course work in nursing, education or administration
  • A minimum of two years of teaching experience in pre- or post-licensure nursing programs
  • At least two years of experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care and/or equivalent experience as determined by the Board
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
