Qualifications

• Education and Experience: High school degree or equivalent, plus 1–2 years of relevant cleaning experience preferred.
• Language Skills: Ability to read a limited number of words and to print and speak simple sentences.
• Math Skills: Basic math including weights, volumes, and distances.
• Reasoning Ability/Mental Requirements: Follow detailed instructions and solve simple problems.
• Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Communicate politely with students, staff, and visitors.
• Reliable transportation to work.

Responsibilities

• Clean floors by vacuuming, sweeping, dust mopping, washing, waxing and buffing.
• Wash and clean windows, walls, chalkboards, trash cans, water fountains and sinks.
• Dust furniture, fixtures and woodwork; maintain bulletin boards and displays.
• Provide set-up and breakdown of spaces for events; empty trash and litter pick-up.
• Unload materials from delivery trucks; perform routine maintenance of vents and fixtures.
• Move furniture; monitor traffic in parking areas; ensure safety of students and staff.
• Assist with cleaning and repairs to bathrooms, ceilings, windows coverings and plumbing fixtures.
• Report safety hazards to supervisor and support during drills or emergencies.
