Job summary

ABM is seeking a reliable School Custodian to perform general cleaning duties at a K-12 or higher education campus environment. You will clean classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas, and follow safety and cleaning protocols to maintain a safe, healthy learning space.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• No high school diploma, GED or college degree required.
• On-the-job training provided.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain assigned area, including classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and offices.
• Sweep, mop floors, remove debris, and handle spills promptly.
• Regularly check trash receptacles, emptying as needed.
• Follow procedures for chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage.
• Notify lead cleaner or manager concerning repairs or additions to building systems.
• Establish and maintain effective communication with clients and staff.
• Collect, consolidate, and separate recycling into proper receptacles.
• Clean and dust desks, chairs, tables, furniture, fixtures, doors, sills, floors, ceilings, and walls.
• Polish hard surfaces such as woodwork and stainless steel.
• Wipe and clean tabletops, chairs, and equipment in food areas.
• Move cabinets, boxes, furniture, and equipment to clean areas.
• Clean interior partition glass, windows, and mirrors.
• Sweep walks, rake leaves, cut grass, or perform seasonal tasks.
• Maintain the cleanliness of restrooms and comply with safety standards.
