Job summary

UW-La Crosse is seeking custodial staff to maintain cleanliness in academic spaces, residence halls, and student facilities. Responsibilities include cleaning to prescribed standards, coordinating with staff, and ensuring safe, welcoming environments for residents and guests.

Positions may require weekend, night, or holiday hours with differential pay. Prior custodial experience is preferred, and a high school diploma or equivalent is expected.

Qualifications

• Must meet physical demands and follow written instructions.
• Willingness to learn safety procedures and handle cleaning chemicals.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Implements and maintains prescribed cleaning standards.
• Communicates with students, staff, and guests to address needs and service requests.
• Monitors and secures facility entrances and reports issues to appropriate entities.
• Maintains organization of supply areas and equipment, documents inventory.
• Documents and reports repairs, safety hazards, and pest control needs.
• Uses basic cleaning equipment to clean assigned areas and remove waste.
• Keeps walkways clear of debris, snow, and ice.
• Assists with moving projects and collaborates with team members.
