Job summary

ABM Industries is seeking a reliable School Custodian to perform general cleaning duties at a K-12 or higher education campus. You will maintain classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas to support a safe, healthy learning environment.

No high school diploma is required and on-the-job training is provided; applicants must be 18+ and candidates with prior customer service experience are encouraged. ABM offers a comprehensive benefits package and is veteran-friendly.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• No experience required and on the job training provided.
• No high school diploma, GED or college degree required.
• Preferred qualifications: prior customer service experience; one year of similar work experience.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain assigned area (classrooms, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, offices, and stairs).
• Sweep, mop and remove debris in designated areas and spills as needed.
• Empty trash and manage recycling in all designated areas.
• Follow procedures for chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage.
• Notify lead cleaner or manager about repairs or maintenance needs.
• Communicate effectively with clients and team members.
• Polish hard surfaces and clean interior surfaces; dust furniture and fixtures.
