Job summary

Moody Bible Institute in Chicago is seeking a dependable Custodian to join our Facilities team. You will clean restrooms, classrooms, offices, hallways, and common areas across campus to ensure spaces are welcoming and safe for students, staff, and guests.

Responsibilities include operating custodial equipment, disposing of waste, restocking supplies, and supporting campus events. Candidates should have a high school diploma and prior custodial experience preferred, with the ability to lift up

• Clean and maintain restrooms, classrooms, offices, hallways, stairwells, and common areas.
• Clean carpets, floors, walls, windows, and other surfaces using established procedures.
• Collect and properly dispose of trash and recycling materials.
• Monitor, replenish, and organize supplies in restrooms, kitchens, and public spaces.
• Maintain custodial storage areas in a clean, organized, and well-stocked condition.
• Operate custodial equipment, including carpet extractors, floor scrubbers, wet vacuums, and other specialized cleaning tools.
• Follow all safety guidelines, including the proper use of cleaning chemicals and personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Assist with campus events, special projects, and other duties as assigned.

The Opportunity

As a member of our Facilities team, you will play an important role in supporting Moody's mission by providing exceptional custodial services across campus while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and professionalism.

What Youll Do

Work Schedule & Environment

• Full-time position.
• Typical schedules:
• First Shift: Monday-Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
• Second Shift: Monday-Friday, 12:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
• Schedules may vary during academic breaks and campus events.
• Occasional overtime may be required to support institutional events and operational needs.
• This role works throughout Moody's campus in offices, classrooms, restrooms, residence halls, hallways, and other facilities. Team members regularly use standard custodial tools and cleaning equipment to maintain a safe and welcoming environment.
• The position requires frequent walking, standing, stair climbing, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting, pushing, and pulling throughout the workday. Employees must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and move custodial carts, equipment, and supplies as needed.
