Job description

Position Purpose

Teton Science Schools is a mission driven nonprofit organization that connects people, nature, and community through place based education. Across our campuses and learning spaces in the Greater Yellowstone region, TSS creates meaningful experiences for students, educators, families, staff, and partners.

The Campus Cleaner helps ensure that our spaces are clean, welcoming, and cared for each day. This role will rotate between TSS locations, including the Kelly Campus, Murie Ranch, the Jackson Campus, and other TSS facilities as needed.

Taking care of our spaces is everyone's responsibility at Teton Science Schools. This position provides an additional level of attention and care, helping ensure that shared spaces receive the consistent cleaning and extra love they need to remain welcoming for our community.

Reporting to the Property Management team, the Campus Cleaner will take ownership of routine cleaning across assigned locations, identify areas needing additional attention, maintain cleaning supplies, and work collaboratively with staff across TSS.

Responsibilities
  • Provide routine cleaning across TSS campuses and facilities on a rotating schedule.
  • Clean and sanitize bathrooms, classrooms, offices, meeting rooms, common areas, kitchens, dining spaces, entryways, and other shared spaces.
  • Vacuum, sweep, mop, dust, wipe surfaces, clean windows and glass, and complete other routine cleaning tasks.
  • Empty trash and recycling and help ensure waste areas remain clean and organized.
  • Complete periodic deep cleaning projects based on campus needs and seasonal schedules.
  • Help prepare, clean, and reset spaces for programs, events, meetings, and transitions between groups.
  • Monitor and maintain cleaning supplies and communicate when products or equipment need to be reordered or replaced.
  • Identify maintenance, safety, or facility concerns while cleaning and communicate them to the Property Management team.
  • Respond to changing campus needs and prioritize spaces that require additional attention.
  • Help create consistent cleaning standards and routines across TSS locations.
  • Communicate clearly with staff about cleaning schedules, priorities, and facility needs.
  • Work collaboratively with the Property Management team and the broader TSS community to keep our campuses welcoming and well cared for.
Qualifications
  • Experience with professional cleaning, custodial work, housekeeping, hospitality, facilities, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in creating clean, welcoming spaces.
  • Ability to work independently, manage a rotating schedule, and identify cleaning needs without constant direction.
  • Dependable, organized, and able to follow through consistently on assigned responsibilities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and adjust to changing campus and program needs.
  • Comfortable working around students, staff, program participants, families, and visitors.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative, service oriented approach.
  • Ability to safely use common cleaning products, tools, and equipment.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to drive between TSS locations.
