Job summary

Johnson County Community College seeks a Part-Time Athletic Driver to provide safe and timely transportation for student-athletes, coaches, and staff to events, practices, and tournaments. This seasonal, on‑demand role aligns with academic and sports calendars.

The position requires a high school diploma, a clean driving record, and at least two years of professional driving experience, with availability nights and weekends. Background checks and mandatory training are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and the ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.
• Minimum of two years of professional driving experience.
• Must pass a background check and complete all JCCC-required training.
• Must have night and weekend availability, including the ability to drive at night.

Responsibilities

• Safe Transport: Provide safe, reliable transportation to and from events for coaches and student‑athletes.
• Safety and Vehicle Care: Conduct pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections, ensure vehicle is clean and fueled.
• Route Planning: Map out the safest/fastest route accounting for traffic and weather.
• Team Liaison: Represent the athletic department and communicate with staff, parents, and venue staff.
• Punctuality: Be at the team meeting spot 30 minutes before departure and maintain a strict schedule.
