Campaign Manager
Department: Campaign Operations
Reports To: Vice President of University Advancement
Purpose

The Campaign Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day implementation and operational execution organizational and administrative support for Biola University’s Streams of Influence campaign. This position works closely with the Vice President of University Advancement, advancement and marketing staff, campus partners and campaign volunteers to manage campaign activities, maintain campaign systems and reporting, support donor engagement efforts, and ensure that campaign projects are completed efficiently and on schedule.

The Campaign Manager will help translate campaign strategy into action and monitor progress toward campaign goals.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, collaborative, and enjoys coordinating multiple projects while serving others behind the scenes.

Alignment with Theological Positions

The person who fills this position must be someone who personally agrees with Biola’s Articles of Faith and Statement of Biblical Principles and who is supportive of the positions taken by Biola as contained in its Eschatology Teaching Position. As such, this person may not speak against or act in a manner inconsistent with these positions during the course of their employment at Biola.

Responsibilities
I. Campaign Management and Project Leadership
  • Manage the day-to-day implementation and execution of comprehensive campaign campaign activities and timelines.
  • Develop and maintain campaign calendars, schedules, and project plans.
  • Monitor campaign deadlines and ensure accountability for assignments and deliverables across participating departments and individuals.
  • Lead regular campaign progress meetings and facilitate cross-functional communication and follow-up.
  • Manage campaign communications for Advancement staff and staff across various Biola departments and volunteers.
  • Ensure the campaign is integrated into annual giving, major giving, planned giving, foundation relations, alumni engagement, parent engagement, and other Advancement activities.
  • Prepare campaign reports, dashboards, and progress updates.
II. Campaign Operations and Administrative Support
  • Provide executive administrative support for campaign leadership.
  • Schedule campaign meetings and donor strategy meetings.
  • Prepare agendas, meeting materials, and presentation documents.
  • Record meeting notes and monitor follow-up action items.
  • Manage the campaign operation campaign budget.
  • Maintain an up-to-date record of total campaign dollars raised and provide regular updates to the Vice President of University Advancement, Advancement staff and key volunteer leaders.
  • Analyze campaign performance and identify trends, gaps, and areas requiring additional attention.
III. Donor and Prospect Support
  • Maintain accurate campaign records and reports within the university’s fundraising CRMs and donor prospecting databases, including Raiser’s Edge and Windshield2020.
  • In partnership with Advancement partners, coordinating donor correspondence, acknowledgments, and stewardship materials.
  • Assist with prospect research and campaign tracking.
  • Prepare donor briefing materials as needed.
  • Maintain and update reports related to campaign gifts and amounts still needed within each campaign priority.
IV. Campaign Communications and Materials
  • Manage the production, implementation and distribution of the campaign communications plan and coordinate the production and distribution of campaign materials.
  • Develop, write, and edit copy for campaign assets, including print, digital and video.
  • Manage the development and production of campaign collateral, presentations, newsletters, digital resources, and other campaign materials.
  • Help ensure consistency of campaign messaging and branding across campaign communications.
V. Volunteer and Committee Support
  • Manage the ongoing operation support and engagement of the Executive Campaign Committee and Campaign Steering Committee.
  • Coordinate committee meetings and communications.
  • Prepare agendas, briefing materials, progress reports, and follow-up plans in partnership with the Vice President of University Advancement.
  • Assist volunteer leaders with meeting preparation and follow-up.
  • Ensure timely follow-up on committee action items and maintain accountability for assigned responsibilities.
  • Maintain campaign records, committee rosters, and related documentation.
VI. Campaign Events
  • Assist in planning and coordinating campaign events, donor gatherings, campaign celebrations, and public launch activities.
  • Develop event project plans, timelines, and budgets.
  • Coordinate logistics with Advancement and Marketing staff, faculty, vendors, and volunteers.
  • Prepare event materials and oversee follow-up after events.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience preferred.
  • Five or more years of administrative, project management, fundraising, or nonprofit experience preferred.
  • Previous experience managing complex projects, initiatives, or fundraising campaigns preferred.
  • Experience in fundraising, donor development, donor stewardship, or advancement operations preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects from planning through completion and drive accountability across multiple teams.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and fundraising CRM systems.
  • Ability to work effectively with senior leaders, volunteers, donors, and colleagues.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
  • Demonstration of a mature and growing Christian faith consistent with Biola University's mission, values, and Statement of Faith.
Hours: Full-time, salaried position
Work Location: This position requires working on-site at the campus.
Hiring Range: $73,797.00 - 84,205.00 annual
